Mindful Listening

February 29, 2016 Sara

Take a minute to reflect on how it feels to be really listened to, and how it feels to be only partially or hardly listened to! Start noticing today when this happens....and then begin to notice when you really listen - and when you don't... I thought I was a good listener until I did… Continue reading Mindful Listening

What do you need? How can you honour your Self and your needs? Such an important question and when we deeply honour our needs we can then truly be there for others…I often get caught in a tangle of should messages/obligations…but when I listen deeply and go slowly, meeting my needs, I’m often so much more present for my loved ones! Thank you @optionb for this post 🙏🏼💖 #honourself #honourneeds #selfcare
Yes!! 🙏🏼💖
Since breaking my foot 8 weeks ago and suffering concussion and whiplash I have learnt that even when you have to let go of plans, release hopes for bushwalking and camping, even when you are limited in movement and your brain needs to keep things simple…there is so much to enjoy, to relish, to savour….sand between the toes, icey ocean swims, sitting on a lookout and watching whales, standing with hand on a tree, connecting with an osprey, accomplishing a walk, a good coffee, having a laugh, sharing a hug are all sooooooo precious and so beautiful to have this time to heal in nature…
This podcast with poet/philosopher David Whyte @onbeing was the best I’ve heard this year !!! His exploration through poetry of what it means to surrender your smaller self to something larger, to embrace and embody all the ways we avoid being here now, his exploration of living into the questions- Loved it (so much I listened to it twice!!) and his poetry moves me to tears!! Thank you @onbeing 🙏🏼💖
Often in counselling and coaching we talk a lot about what IS within our control and what IS NOT….what we can change and what we can’t change…often when we are stressed and our thoughts are spinning fast it can be hard to discern the difference but with a constructive conversation clients often leave feeling seen, heard and understood with clarity around what they CAN do, even in difficult situations. Being seen, heard and deeply understood often makes the finding of solutions much easier- I love this about counselling/coaching 🙏🏼😊
